I never knew DeadComputer well, to be honest,so I'll be on the neutral side and stay on the fence for this one. Based on your chat, here's my personal opinion.(I'm truly sorry if I offend any of you with what I'm about to say.)

I think that him being somewhat of a homophobic and is always ready to defend his point of view isn't necessarily wrong. We all have our opinions, and should respect each other's as well in an era like this. But there's where his issue is. "Respect". It just seems that he would be classified as the type of person who would be completely straight to his point, usually almost oblivious to the fact that his words are often hurtful and/or somewhat bothersome to others. Again, in my opinion, he might not be able to pinpoint the boundaries of others, and often ends up with conversations containing offensive content. The lack of some necessary respect to viewpoints of others and sometimes overlooking his own is what I think another factor of the argument here.

In my point of view, certain topics and viewpoints should be avoided if possible and carefully considered before expressing them to the public if necessary, including (but not limited to) issues regarding sexual preference, nationalism and discriminating opinions. Phrasing plays an important part of this process, and by merely changing your phrasing could mean a significant difference. Take racial discrimination for example: phrases "I hate <a certain race>" and "I do not really enjoy the presence/company of <a certain race>" are similar in meaning, but the latter would less likely offend the person whom you're speaking to.

Besides that, there is also the matter of compromising. If one refuses to accept your viewpoint or has already expressed dissatisfaction, you should consider to compromise by not pushing the subject any further and instead switching to another one, preferably one that's less likely to cause an argument between opposing views.

Another thing to consider would be to acknowledge the subjects that are acceptable to a certain individual before engaging in conversation with the said person. Based on my knowledge, subjects acceptable to one does not automatically make it acceptable to all. Again, if the person you are talking to is openly expressing discomfort, it is advised to change the subject as soon as possible.

One final thing is regarding the venue which the conversation takes place. If it's in a public or inapropriate section, like the comments section for example is not the best place for exposing inapropriate content as it is one of the most easiest way to cause an uproar, and could lead to serious trouble.

A simple conclusion: Consider wisely before you act.

P.P.S @DeadComputer ,you're not entirely wrong, but try to compromise a little more, don't be too straight forward. That way it might just be better for all of us. All of us are victims from this heated argument.

It's none of my business and you can just ignore this comment if you want, but I sort of just pity this whole situation. Especially since DeadComputer seems to be just a kid who wanted to make Madness stuff. I don't actually mind that he's fascist or whatever (I doubt he's even qualifies as one, much less a legitimate /pol/lack. He sounds more edgy and try-hard if anything), but he is veeeerrrry childish nonetheless. I also cringe at the fact that other people are still caring about this issue when it should be left alone by now. We're already notified that DC is generally not a good person, and leave it at that. No more hate comments, no more trying to explain who is right, no more dickriding, no more taunting, just y'know, move on. If anyone comments again, I suggest you should just ignore it and move on with your day guys, it's pretty simple. Ah, if anything, this whole issue will blow over by itself hopefully before next month. Hopefully.
